| DIRECTIONS At the M58 end of motorway roundabout, take the second exit onto M6 (J26) for 52.2 miles Exit to the left onto M6 Slip Road (J36) At the roundabout, take the first exit onto M6 (J36) Follow signs for Barrow (A590) Continue along the dual carriageway and take a left where it says Lake district Peninsulas At the roundabout take the first left for A590 (still signed Barrow/Ulverston) Carry on towards Ulverston, after the Rusland Pool pub on the right keep an eye out for the right turning to Coniston and Greenodd (A5092). Bear right as you pass the petrol station (on your left) and join the A5084 going through Penny Bridge. Take a right just after the Farmers Arms on your right hand side A5092 go past Lowick and Blawith, then Water Yeat. Carry on along that and youll go past the Landrover garage at Torver turn right as you come up to the Wilsons arms ahead of you (towards Coniston) youll go past the Church House pub. Carry on along and youll see the signs for entering Coniston after a few miles. Keep going along the road and when you get to the petrol station make sure you indicate right and go straight over the hump back bridge, so the church is on your right, bear right past The Crown Inn, carry on as if youre going out of Coniston. (if you dont do this quickly enough youll go past the Black Bull) as you go past Shepherds Villa guest house on the left, theres a little field and then a road before the bridge, go left down that road and the Sports and Social Club is on the right hand side. (Opposite the Primary School). |
